The West Bloomfield - Lakes Area Democratic Club is an official association of the Michigan Democratic Party in West Bloomfield Township. We work to promote the philosophy of the Democratic Party, help elect Democrats to public office, and increase civic engagement.

All meetings are free and open to the public. They are usually held on the 1st or 2nd Thursday of the month and our primary venue is the West Bloomfield Public Library. However, meeting date, and location occasionally change due to venue availability. Meeting details are always provided via email notices, on the website, and meeting schedule.
WBLDems Executive Committee election will take place at our November meeting for the 2026-2027 term. See our election procedure here. To run or vote you must be a member of both WBLDems and the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) for at least 30 days before the Nov 13 election, except for precinct delegates and elected officials. However, everyone must still be a member of both groups to vote.
See the bios of the members who are currently running here. We will also accept nominations or self-nominations at the meeting. If you are interested in serving in an at-large position, contact Amy. Please be aware that there is a time commitment to attend ExComm meetings (normally by Zoom) and our monthly general membership meetings. In addition, we ask you to take a leadership role on one of our committees, actively participate in club events, and most importantly, support election efforts.

WBLDems Holiday Party
Celebrate the holiday season with us on Thursday, December 11 at the Shenandoah Country Club, 5600 Walnut Lake Rd in W. Bfld, at 6 pm with a delicious Mediterranean buffet and open bar.

The next bi-monthly general membership meeting will be on Wednesday, November 19, 6:00 pm, at Hadassah House, 5300 Orchard Lk Rd, in W. Blfld. Most meetings are usually held every other month on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm at different locations around the district.
